Cost & Financing FAQ

How much does LASIK cost?

The best way to find out is to call us at 888-539-EYES so we can give you a specific answer. In general, the price depends on your prescription, the technology you choose for your vision correction procedure, as well as any current promotions. Our LASIK counselors will be happy assist you.

While cost is not the only factor in our patients’ decision, we always make sure our prices are most competitive.  We are so sure, that if you find a lower price for same technology, we match that and give you an additional 10% off. (See “Best Price Guarantee” below).

How do we make LASIK affordable?

Our staff at Bloomberg Eye Center is committed to providing the best quality of care to our patients, as well as the best value. Over the years, our reputation for service has generated thousands of word-of-mouth referrals. As a result, our practice in Central Ohio is the leading LASIK eye surgery provider in the area, and Dr. Shahinfar has performed more procedures than any other surgeon in Central Ohio.

Our business volume translates into savings for our patients. In addition we are physician-owned, not a commercial LASIK center with hired doctors. There is no corporate middle-man between you and your doctor and this too allows us to be cost-competitive.

In short, at Bloomberg Eye Center we offer the best technology, the most experience, and importantly, we make it affordable.

What is our peace-of-mind best-value guarantee?

When you come to us for LASIK eye surgery, you not only get state of the art technology and the most experienced surgeon in Central Ohio, but you will also pay the best price for the treatment. If you have another quoted price lower than ours for equivalent technology and service, we will gladly match the price, and give you an additional 10% off. This is a rare occurrence, but it is a simple guarantee for your peace of mind.

Is LASIK cost related to quality?

In some places it certainly can be. We have seen the birth and demise of commercial LASIK centers where typically part-time or traveling surgeons are hired and paid as little as $50 per surgery in order to offer a lower LASIK price. Patients from Columbus, Central Ohio, and West Virginia have come to us for help with complications caused by some of those centers.

On the other hand, high cost does not necessarily guarantee high quality either. There are a lot of advertisements for LASIK these days. It is important to do your homework, ask around, become familiar with a particular facility’s reputation and their surgeon’s claimed experience before you decide to have your surgery there.

What is the cost of LASIK compared to glasses and contact lenses?

LASIK is more cost-effective than glasses or contact lenses. Studies have shown that your initial investment in LASIK, something you use and enjoy every minute of your life, will actually save you money in the long run.

Prescription glasses can be expensive. Add to that the cost of doctor’s visit, and the fact that you will probably need a new pair every few years, and will buy prescription sunglasses every so often, and the costs will be substantial.

With contact lenses, you will have ongoing costs for lenses, solutions, doctor visits, etc. LASIK, on the other hand, is usually a one-time procedure and after that you only need inexpensive non-prescription sunglasses and/or reading glasses.
